The second stage of the tour “Along the Spine” takes ONE EARTH ORCHESTRA to Ecuador and Costa Rica. There we bring about concerts and joint projects together with very different partners.
Tour details:
25 – 27/2/17: Musical encounter with the flutists of the indigenous Kichwa in the  Centro Cultural de Investigación Ancestral y Desarrollo Integral Comunitario Hatun Kotama in Otavalo (Ecuador).  
27/2/17: Concert in the Centro Cultural Hatun Kotama together with Kichwa musicians
1 – 3/3/17: Workshops for composition, improvisation, violin, cello, percussion, clarinet in the Conservatorio de Música Franz Liszt in Quito 
4/3/17: Final concert in the Conservatorio de Música Franz Liszt in Quito 
6 – 8/3/17: Workshops for composition, improvisation, violin, cello, percussion, clarinet, accordion at Golden Valley School in Heredia (Costa Rica) 
8/3/17: Final concert at Golden Valley School in Heredia  
9 – 10/3/17: Musical encounter with musicians of the Bribri and the Naso in Yorkín near Bambú (Costa Rica) and the border with Panama
9/3/17: Concert with musicians of the Bribri and the Naso in Yorkín

Programmes of the concerts:
The following pieces were prepared for the musical encounters and concerts:
Volker Staub: for two to play on one drum (for 2 percussionists) / weather instruments (sound installations) / Tripa for ensemble – OEO #1, #4, #5 (for ensemble) / Unser Meer / Mare Nostrum (for singing soloists, choir, instrumental soloists and orchestra) 
Sebastian Flaig: Der Emul (for ensemble) / Wide Call (for ensemble) 
Edgar Granda: Suite Popular Moderna Ecuatoriana (for guitar solo, arranged for ensemble by Volker Staub)
Klezmer arrangements and arrangements of traditional music from Syria, Bulgaria, Germany, India, the USA and Senegal.
New pieces rehearsed on location together with cooperation partners.
